Yesterday at the Kaisertown Coalition meeting Dr. Josh Bruzgul spoke to the group about his team’s plans for the old Pumpernick and Pastry building at the corner of Clinton & Pierce Streets. He also spoke to new plans for Ray’s on Clinton Street.
The buildings will be used to house a variety of animal treatment and training facilities. There will be dog daycare, a veterinarian treatment facility and a running course & pool area for agility and rehabilitation. There are also …plans to add a retail component for pet supplies & food.
Recently new legislation was passed that allows diners to bring their dogs to outdoor restaurant spaces, in cases where the restaurant owner allows it. Ray’s dining facility will leverage this new legislation and encourage a dog friendly environment. It will also be used in conjunction with a program they will have to train therapy dogs.
The plans will be implemented in stages and much work is still to be done in terms of obtaining proper permits and a myriad of other paperwork and construction type issues. Dr. Josh also mentioned that the facilities may be used for different events (agility competitions ect) which has the potential to draw people to Kaisertown, not only from the WNY area but also surrounding cities.
Below is a basic rendering of some of the changes that are planned for Ray’s.
This is a giant win for Kaisertown. This type of investment, hopefully combined with Better Buffalo Grant funding has the potential to make an enormous impact on Clinton Street! 🐾
