Unpopular opinion. I think Donut Kraze has the best donuts in WNY. That’s right, I said it and I’m sticking to my chocolate coated, peanut crusted, cream filled guns.
Article after article suggests that donuts are in the midst of a revolution. Donuts are the new cupcakes. America is taking a quintessential treat and foodie-fying it. Donuts are reaching new levels of creativity with amped up flavor profiles and increasing levels of sophistication. Shops like Voo-doo Donuts in Portland, OR, and Glazed Donut Bistro in West Hollywood, CA are turning donuts into gourmet masterpieces.
Maybe Buffalo isn’t there quite yet, but Donut Kraze puts their own spin on this breakfast classic. They have some unique flavors (Bacon Maple, Strawberry Cheesecake, Coconut Cream, Pineapple and Peach Cobbler to name a few). The donuts are made daily…no frozen nonsense here.
This building used to be a Dickie’s Donuts. In fact, it may have been the last Dickie’s Donuts open in Buffalo. I’ve read some online reviews where people have spoken negatively about the interior décor. How disappointing. Sometimes people need to embrace the old along with the new. Jump aboard the retro vibe people. Not everything needs to look like a Tim Horton’s.
These donuts are fresh to death and worth a special trip. You can pay Donut Kraze a visit at 406 Dingens St- they’re open 24 hours a day. Plus as a bonus, there’s a nice old school counter where you can take a seat, drink some coffee and enjoy your treat. Go get Krazy!
